MEET ZENA

Zena Shteysel turned a passion into a career, and turned a need into a business.

Zena attended makeup school on weekends while working full time during the week as an assistant accountant in the entertainment industry. She graduated and became a makeup artist in 2002. She took any and every job she could — weddings, horror films, adult films, shorts — whether paid or not. She was hired as Key Makeup Artist on the very first season of Dancing with the Stars in 2005.
She began developing the Z Palette after she found nothing suitable on the market to help downsize her kit. It was also during this time that her career began to take shape, working with the likes of world-renowned photographer, Annie Liebowitz, and designing the looks for a number of studio and independent movies.

Zena won her first Emmy Award in 2007 for Dancing with the Stars, and three years later, she became the Department Head Makeup Artist. She won her second Emmy Award for Dancing with the Stars in 2011. Zena continues to work in the industry, where she can learn from her peers and experience trends and changes firsthand. She continues to expand Z Palette with innovative technologies and color.
She is building it to be the premier makeup organization company in the world.
